Someone once said

As a response to a blogger's advice question, someone once said:
 "Write drunk, edit sober."
Want to guess who that 'someone' is?
Raven, you are much like Hemmingway.

And here's the thing: Some of my best blogs have been a result of a few drinks.
Let's be honest, without vodka by my side I would have never been able to write the Ghost of Boyfriends Past series.

Lord knows I don't have those kind of cojones on my own.
But what is it? Is it that tequila makes me feisty? Is it that champagne makes me giggle? Is it the fact that alcohol lowers our inhibitions? Yes. That's exactly what it is.

I'm able to write in this stream-of-conscious style all the while being witty, a little crass, but still adorable, no?

Okay.... so my goal is to implement this halfway-drunken writing style to my everyday blogs.
I'm telling you now... this is going to be interesting.
To allow myself to freely express emotions and thoughts 'in the now' is something I have always struggled with... but really, why am I holding back?
Why? Because I judge myself. WAY more than you do, I promise. I read everything I write. I watch my videos. I see what you see. Except... I judge. TOUGH.

But at some point you just have to throw your hands in the air and say "Eff it." Or shove a cupcake in your face.
Really, it helps.

So do it. Say "Oh, well!" and "Who cares!" and "So what!" and all of those other challenging statements because you know what? It is SO much more fun to be your silly self (If that's who you are) than to try to please other people. I do weird things constantly. Mostly when I'm by myself, and sometimes to make other people laugh. But I'm weird. I will be the first to admit.

I think that's the best part about me, though. I sing in the car, I am messy and unorganized, I start books and never finish them. I have conversations with myself in the mirror. I take WAY too many photos (half of them are of me). I get frustrated when I am not good at something right off the bat. And also I love. I love fearlessly. I fall in love so easily, and trust me this isn't a bad thing. I'm not just talking friend/relationships. Music, oh how you speak to my little soul. Food, a vehicle of love passing through the senses. Technology. Yes, that's right. I LOVE being connected. Mostly because of you.

You have given me inspiration and courage and a passion for something I never knew I was passionate about. Thanks, friends. You got a special place in this big ol' heart of mine.

And with that... I'm going to wish you a Happy Friday. Enjoy the weekend. I must say, I have been hiding something from you.....

Maybe I will reveal on Monday.
Yes, I think I will.

Oh Happy Day.

I feel like every time I read your posts I just nod my head because they sound EXACTLY like my own thoughts.

Haha this is so true. I often come home from a night out and while attempting to get myself to sleep ill come up with a blog topic and write it out in my head. The next morning I'll think back (to what I was thinking about) and wonder if I actually ever would have hit publish on it. I think next time...I will.
