In Twenty-Five Years

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
 Explore. Dream. Discover.
- Mark Twain

In Twenty-Five Years I have fully displayed wild-child tendencies.
I have danced in the rain, sang on table tops, and stayed up late on rooftops.
I have made mistakes.
Sometimes the same ones more than once.
More importantly

I have loved.
I've loved fully, wildly and whole heartedly.

In Twenty-Five Years I have moved.
I have moved apartments.
Moved across country.
Stepped away from relationships that weren't moving.

More importantly

I have explored.
And had some amazing adventures along the way.

In Twenty-FIve Years I have learned.
I have been earning a degree.
I have learned some tough life lessons.
I have learned how to treat and love my body.

More importantly

I have never stopped learning.
And I don't plan to.

In Twenty-Five Years I have lost.
Lost track of time.
Lost myself in love.
Lost my path.
Lost a few friends along the way.

More importantly

I have found what truly makes me feel loved and appreciated.
And this is where you come in.

If you are reading this you are in my life.
No matter how big or small.
No matter how many times we've emailed back and forth
or how many hours we've talked on the phone
or how many months we dated

You are in.

You have helped make me who I am.
Right now.
As a Twenty Five Year old.
That's pretty cool, don't you think?

That you have contributed something very special to my life.
That you have been there for me, through struggles and accomplishments.
You have been my biggest supporters and friends.
Can I just tell you how wonderful you are?

You are effing wonderful.

This year is a big one for me. I am making some changes and REALLY going after something I never even thought about until YOU, yes YOU told me that I could.

It's amazing what YOU can do.
Me, too.
And I will show you.
And I can't wait.

So here's my little birthday post.
The one where I reflect and take you back in time.
Instead of a million pictures I would like to leave you with just one.

Photobucket

Thank you, Mom.  You have taught me how to be strong and independent.
You have taught me to be smart with money and save for a rainy day.
You have taught me to never settle in love.
You have taught me so much in life and I cannot thank you enough for always supporting me and loving me no matter where I am.
I love you forever.

Okay... enough of the sappiness.. did I tell you I am having a party? Well it's actually a brunch. With a waffle bar.

I'm excited.

I'll show you all of the goodies on Monday!

Happy Birthday! And this is beautiful! (So is your moms post above!) I was just thinking about this year of 25 and how I got to be where I am. The Mark Twain quote sums it up for me. Have a great weekend and waffles!
